XtMapper is a free, open-source keymapper built specifically for Android-on-PC setups. Instead of relying on accessibility-service tricks like most mobile keymapper apps, it reads input events directly from the kernel level, which makes it one of the more reliable options for mapping keyboard and mouse controls onto touch-only Android games.

What Is XtMapper

XtMapper is an open-source keyboard-and-mouse mapper built by developer Xtr126, specifically targeting the Android-on-PC ecosystem — Bliss OS, Android-x86, Prime OS, and Waydroid are all officially supported. Unlike most "touch overlay" mapper apps on the Play Store, XtMapper reads raw input events at the kernel level, which generally means lower input lag and more reliable click registration in fast-paced games.

It doesn't need root access for the standard Bliss OS / Android-x86 use case, since those systems already expose the input device nodes it reads from. The Waydroid case is more involved — because Waydroid runs in a container, XtMapper needs an experimental companion tool called wayland-getevent to bridge input events into the container, which the guide below covers.

The project is actively maintained (recent commits as of this writing) with 388+ stars on GitHub, multi-language support including Chinese, Arabic, and Punjabi translations, and an active Discord/Telegram community through BlissLabs for support.

Key Features
Kernel-Level Input Reading
Lower input lag than accessibility-based mapper apps.
No Root Needed
Works out of the box on Bliss OS and Android-x86.
Multi-Touch Support
Built using code from the scrcpy project for proper multi-finger gesture mapping.
Visual Profile Editor
Drag-and-place control editor with a floating action button toolkit.
Waydroid Support
Works on Waydroid containers through the companion wayland-getevent tool.
Fully Open Source
GPL v3 licensed, source available and auditable on GitHub.
Setup Guide (Bliss OS / Android-x86)
1
Download XtMapper using Server 1 or Server 2 above and install the APK.
2
Open XtMapper and grant the input-reading permissions it requests on first launch.
3
Create a new profile for the game you want to map controls for.
4
Place touch points on screen using the floating editor, then assign each one a keyboard key or mouse button.
5
Save the profile and launch your game — XtMapper runs in the background translating your inputs.
Setup Guide (Waydroid)
NOTE: Waydroid support is experimental. Disable "Auto Profiling" in XtMapper's settings before starting, or the bridge connection can fail.
1
Install XtMapper inside your Waydroid container first.
2
Download wayland-getevent (the companion bridge tool) from its GitHub releases page.
3
Unroot the Waydroid container if it's currently rooted — the bridge script fails to write on a rooted container.
4
Run the client via terminal, piping it into the Waydroid shell to forward input events.
5
Enable cursor on subsurface with waydroid prop set persist.waydroid.cursor_on_subsurface true if your cursor isn't visible.
